Presque Isle River Falls

The Presque Isle River Waterfalls is one of the most spectacular spots in our state! Located on the western edge of the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park, the Presque Isle River is home to 3 beautiful waterfalls; Nawadaha, Manido and Manabezho. In its final mile before emptying into Lake Superior, the Presque Isle descends more than 100 feet and in doing so has carved a rugged and steep-sided gorge, filled with amazing waterfalls! Enjoy a 2.5 mile hike through the forest with suspension bridges, boardwalks, stairs, and lookout views!

 

Directions:  Start on U.S 2 for 7 miles heading to Wakefield. Turn left onto M-28/Sunday Lake Street for about 1.3 miles and turn right onto Thomaston Road. Continue onto N Co Rd 519 for 14 miles. There will be a Presque Isle River Parking area on your left. Driving time: 41 min. Parking fee required.
