How many rental units are at Big Powderhorn?
Powderhorn Lodging has a wide selection of lodging to fit all price ranges and amenity levels. We have the most trailside lodging of any resort in the Midwest. The lodging “village” surrounds the ski area and covers an area of two square miles. A free shuttle bus is available to help you and your family move easily between your lodging and the ski area.
How old do I have to be to rent a vacation home?
Primary renter must be at least 21 years of age to rent property and is required to stay on premise. People other than those in the Guest party set forth may not stay overnight in the property. Any other person in the property is the sole responsibility of Guest. Guests are not allowed to exceed the occupancy limit agreed to.
Are pets allowed in the units?
Many of our vacation rental units are “pet friendly” (dogs only). We understand that a family pet is a member of the family and leaving it at home can detract from your total enjoyment of your vacation. We do expect your pet to be well behaved around other guests, the staff that may come in contact with them and the lodging accommodations and we expect the pet owners to take responsibility for any damage or extra cleaning that may be the result of your pets behavior. A $50.00 non-refundable fee will be charged per stay. This fee is not included in the quoted rate and will be added upon notication that you are bringing your pet. Local pet boarding facilities are near by as are veterinarians.
Can I rent for more than just a few days? Monthly? Yearly?
Powderhorn Lodging offers rental by the night, week and month, but we are sorry, we do not have yearly leasing options. Our nightly rentals require a minimum stay that varies by lodging type from two to three nights. Monthly rentals are available during the summer, spring and fall, but not during the winter season. For last minute bookings (3 days out) please contact BPLA during office hours.
I Have a Summer Reservation & I see my Unit has a Hot Tub, Can I Use It?
Unfortunately, our units with hot tubs are WINTER-ONLY. This means for Spring, Summer & Fall our rentals do not offer the option of a hot tub, even if there is one at your vacation home. We are very sorry for any inconvenience. We do offer these hot tubs in the Winter season though and what better way to relax after a long day out on the snow!
What is the best way to contact Big Powderhorn Lodging for more information?
We still like the “old fashion” ways, we like to talk to our guests. Our friendly staff is available to discuss your lodging needs by just calling our toll free number shown at the top of this page. You can email us too, at email@example.com. And, you can make your reservation online by using our secure online service.
What’s the best time to stay at BPLA?
Any season is great. We have more guests during winter weekends than any other time. We typically get over 200 inches of snow a year so the skiing and winter sports are the finest in the midwest. Weekdays in winter are less crowded. During the spring the rivers and waterfalls roar with melting snow. Summers are mild and lazy. The colors in the autumn are as good as anywhere in the USA. Every season has its own charm and has a loyal following.
All of our vacation rentals are now smoke free. Michigan has recently implemented a new non-smoking rule that bans smoking in public lodging. Fortunately our wood burning fireplaces are excluded from the ban.
