Cold Iron Brewing turns 3 years old this March and we would love to celebrate 3 years with you! Each year our anniversary coincides with St. Paddy’s Day, which means Cold Iron’s Irish Red Ale will go on tap along with another special creation for the party, TBA. We welcome back Don & GG’s Food and Spirits who will be creating a great spread of Irish themed-food including corned beef, cabbage and more. MESC Big Powderhorn @ Big Powderhorn Mountain

MESC Big Powderhorn:
Big Powderhorn Mountain Resort will be hosting the MESC MI event for the series April 4/5 2020; Saturday we will be running Hillclimb and Hillcross racing then Sunday will be cross country racing all day utilizing the entire facility (snow permitting).

Big Powderhorn has been on our radar for the Midwest Extreme Snowmobile Challenge since day 1, with the spectator viewing and substantial lake effect snow this will make for one of our best events in MI.

Big Powderhorn event will still be held on the traditional date (first weekend of April) that we have run our MI event for the past 4 seasons.

Hillclimb and HillX will run Saturday and XC on Sunday

Hillclimb and hillcross course will start right at the base of the resort and race to the top of the hill, exact course routing will be determined closer to the event.

Cross country course will have a large section at base of hill in full view of spectators before they embark on an amazing course throughout the Big Powderhorn property. Course routing will utlize as much of the Big Powderhorn Resort that we can, course will be in the 3-5 mile range. Exact course routing and layout will be finalized approx two weeks prior to the event.

Spectator admission will be FREE for both days of the event and we are working with the Big Powderhorn Resort staff to have multiple vendors on site. Our goal is to create a fun event for spectators and racers so make sure to come out and support this great local event!!

Saturday HillX and Hillclimb racing:

HillX will be 3 rounds of heats, LCQ if needed, & Finals

Hillclimb will get 3 runs at the hill, fastest time of the 3 will count

Sunday XC:
Laps and course route will be announced 2 weeks prior to event except for Pro Stock. (3-5 mile range)

Pro Stock will run timed 2 lap practice for qualifying then for the race you will stage by your qualifying times.
Race will be two 30 minute “motos” plus 2 laps, points awarded for each moto and overall winner based on
combined points of the two motos. Both Pro Stock “motos” will be raced heads up!
