51st Annual Paavo-Nurmi Marathon
Join us at the Ottawa Visitor Center on August 10th to help us celebrate 75 years of The Bear, The Legend, Smokey Bear!
We’ll have games, fire engines and activities for the whole family. Meet Smokey Bear and get a picture with him to take home with you. You’ll also be able to get prizes and other memorabilia to commemorate 75 years of preventing wildfires.
A free luncheon and cake will be provided by the Ottawa Interpretive Association.
2 Man Group plays an acoustic show in the Cold Iron taproom from 7-10 PM Saturday, August 10th 2019.
2 Man Group features two multi-instrumentalists from the Northwoods of Wisconsin. To call their tastes in music eclectic would be an understatement. Consisting of blues, country, and rock, you never know what song they may play next or what instruments they will be playing it on.

Coming August 17, the Historic Ironwood Theatre will host Hotel California The Original Tribute to THE EAGLES.
For almost three decades, HOTEL CALIFORNIA have been recreating the legendary sound of THE EAGLES, and thrilling audiences all over the world. The band set the bar in 1986 and they’ve remained the industry leading substitute for The Eagles ever since. So what makes HOTEL CALIFORNIA so special? Well, incredible lead vocal similarity, intensely accurate instrumental work, soaring harmonies, and top flight live performances, just for starters. They’ve shared the stage with the Doobie Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Styx, REO Speedwagon, and Gretchen Wilson and have performed internationally and all over North America.
They entertained at the HIT back in 2007 and is a show not to be missed!

The course navigates down to the Black River then climbs 500+ vertical feet to the historic Copper Peak ski flying jump. The downhill is fast and flowy with intermittent jumps and bridges. There will be a Sport race (7 miles), an Expert race (16 miles), as well as a kid’s race and trail run (7 miles). We hope you can join us for this fun event!
FROM IRONWOOD TO BESSEMER AND BACK!
The 2019 Bridges and Bluffs 1/2 marathon starts at the Historic Depot Park in downtown Ironwood, Michigan and runs along the Iron Belle Trail to Bessemer, Michigan and back along the trail finishing again at Ironwood’s Depot Park. Enjoy the beautiful trail connecting the local community during the peak of Fall color while taking in the amazing sights of bluffs, rivers, and railroad bridges.
A 2-person relay and 2-mile run walk will also take place to enjoy at shorter distances. The race will take place on September 28, 2019.
Late September means it is time for Cold Iron Brewing’s 3rd annual Oktoberfest Celebration. Join us for an all-day party! We will start pouring this year’s Oktoberfest Lager at noon, with the return of our outdoor beer garden opening at noon as well. There will be traditional German food offerings, hammerschlagen, outdoor fire ring, lawn games, and live music during the afternoon.
