Laskiainen is a celebration of Finnish origins and is described as a “mid-winter sliding festival”.
Join Little Finland on Sunday February 2 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm for sliding and snow shoeing. After enjoying the fresh air, join them for Pea Soup, Kropsua, Finn Bread, Beverage and Desert.

Midnight will fall, as award-winning, national touring CMA artist, Donald Benjamin, returns to the Upper Peninsula for a memorable run of performances, never to be seen again! Donald kicks off his U.P. tour at Cold Iron Brewing on Tuesday, February 4th 2020 at 7 PM, doors at 6 PM. This show is free to attend and open to the public!
See this notable songwriter/artist perform his original hits, favorite country, rock and blues covers, as well as new music, never-before heard, in a live music setting! This is an all-new show you’re sure to love and will regret, if you miss!
This race down the mountain honors one of the most winning NASTAR racers of all time – Dominic Guglielmotto! Local barber Dominic Guglielmotto was one of the most winning and perhaps the all time medal winner in all of NASTAR racing. During his many years of skiing and racing, “Guglie” (as he was affectionately called) won more than 700 metals (more than 600 gold). Gugli’s NASTAR Medals are on display in the Caribou Lodge.

Andy Makey is an Iowa native now residing in the U.P. His show contains both original songs and cover tunes gathered on the journey of his 20 year music career. A mix of acoustic and electric guitars lend to a broad spectrum of tones and energies in this must see performance. He plays at Cold Iron Brewing on Saturday, February 22nd at 7 PM. Admission is free!
