Below is the text of an ad that appeared in the January 22 edition of the New York Times promoting the Beaver Creek Resort sent to us courtesy of a homeowner. Who, incidentally has invested heavily to upgrade their four units. Beaver Creek is a 5 Star resort, obviously of some renown. The text of the advertisement is interesting and it is as follows:

With fresh blankets of new snow, the reasons to visit Beaver Creek run deeper than ever. Need others? How about a sleigh ride to gourmet dining in a remote cabin? The “Ivy League of Ski Schools” perhaps? Or maybe you’re more of an oven- fresh cookies- to greet-the –last- lift type? Well, if you’re like the readers of Conde’ Nast Traveler, who voted us North America’s top ski resort, then you probably love them all.
The final two reasons: Stay and ski Three days and the fourth is on us, and right now ………….
We have underlined two items because those are two things BPLA is already doing. We have fresh cookies in our lobby for guests that check in after a long drive or for those that check out and need a hot cup of coffee and a fresh baked cookie in the morning before their ride home. This is our third year for this and it really goes over well with our guests. It’s the little touches.
We have been doing four for three specials for awhile now and it too works for our guests looking for a deal. And who isn’t? We also do three for two specials for deluxe and economy units. These are two of our most popular promotions.
We are on our way to being really good. Wireless internet, higher quality linens and towels add to the experience. Subtle but important improvements to the quality of our resort. May I remind you again of the fresh cookies in our lobby.
And it’s the little touches at the front desk. No “stumblin and bumblin” as ESPN’s Chris Berman might say. Seamless, professional and cheerful. Our Vacation Planners are the first face of BPLA to the guest and they represent us well. They all also act as our concierge. Complete advice and directions to local attractions and activities.
The improvements many owners have made to their units are noticed by our guests and help assure a return visit. We do want you back!!!! Cleanliness, quality and service are the cornerstones of the lodging business.
We are going to keep trying. Perhaps we are a ways away from 5-Star but that doesn’t stop us from improving every day. Know anybody with a sleigh and a remote cabin?
