Deluxe cabins and condos offer comfortably appointed décor and modern conveniences to ensure a relaxing vacation for the entire family.

Economy cabins and condos are available to accommodate any size group. They offer a wide range of features such as fireplaces, saunas, or even hot tubs! Each comes with the standard features of kitchen, phone and cable TV.

As you move down the above categories, the rental costs substantially declines. We offer the finest collection of vacation cabins and condos in the western Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

Multi Units are duplex or multiplex cabins ideal for groups of friends or family who each want their own cabin but want to be near friends.  Many of these cabins have interconnecting passageways.

We also evaluate each of our cabins on style, upkeep and modern accessories.  Our rating system is:

Gold ratings offer the finest accommodations in the area.  Cabin furnishings and appointments are of the highest quality, unique and coordinated as well as other aspects of the interior.  These cabins are not lacking in any detail.

Silver ratings reflect recent interior design motifs and coordinated decorating efforts.  Inventory contained is excellent in quality and condition.  The cabin is comfortable and stylish with the feeling of home.

Bronze cabins offer a more sterile environment.  Personality and decorating motifs are present, albeit not fully coordinated; there may be a pieced together feel. These cabins offer no frills but an acceptable lodging experience.

Who We Are

Big Powderhorn Lodging (BPLA) is a property management company located at the base of the Big Powderhorn Ski Area. The Lodging Association is a separate company from the ski resort, though we work closely with the ski area and offer ski and lodging specials.

BPLA is entirely owned by the owners of all of our lodging properties.  We are responsible to our owners to ensure that their guests receive the best.  Many of those owners purchased their properties for their friends and family enjoyment.  When they are not using the property we rent it to our guests making sure we treat them as friends and family.

Units must meet our lodging unit standards to be included in the rental program.

Big Powderhorn Lodging Association (BPLA) has been in business for more than 30 years and enjoys a repeat guest visit rate of more than 80 percent. That says a lot about the quality of lodging and quality of service that BPLA provides it's guests.

BPLA is committed to providing quality lodging and service at a fair price. We treat people with respect and provide professional and friendly service to our guests.

Speaking of service we must mention our housekeeping.  We believe the first thing one notices about any lodging is its housekeeping.  Our units are professionally cleaned top to bottom.  When you shower one notices the towels.  Ours are extra large and thick.  Go to bed and sleep on high quality, clean linen.  We take great pride in our housekeeping.

While winter is our prime season, BPLA is open year round and offers special savings during the "other season".  At the present time, BPLA has more than 150 rental units in our rental inventory.
